Most schools prioritize their own success, evaluated by test scores, rather than the success of their students. In California, the removal of the hands-on portion of the state exam has led schools to neglect practical training in the classroom. At Alva, we designed a program that prioritizes our students' success by putting Technique First!

Our instructors are industry veterans with extensive experience, providing personalized guidance and mentorship. We also offer robust student support services, including career counseling and job interview assistance, to help our graduates successfully transition into their careers.

At Alva, we are committed to our students' real-world readiness and  success in the beauty industry. We achieve this by offering hands-on, practical training, personalized mentorship from industry veterans, and comprehensive student support services, including career counseling and job interview assistance. Our innovative curriculum keeps pace with the latest industry trends, ensuring our graduates are well-prepared and confident in their skills. Additionally, we foster a strong community and networking environment to support our students' ongoing growth and success.

We achieve a Technique First approach by offering a hybrid program. The theory portion of the required state hours is completed online at home, accommodating students' schedules and activities. Class hours are held three times a week for four hours each session, with every hour dedicated to hands-on practical demonstrations. The instructor of course remains highly involved with the students' theory lessons, but our goal is to ensure that students learn how to perform the job, not just study about it. This approach ensures our students are confident and competent in their skills when they graduate. Most schools have around 25 students to 1 teacher ratio, with most classroom sessions spent staring at a book. At Alva Beauty Collective, we offer a more dynamic experience by reducing class sizes to less than half of most schools and providing hands-on training for the majority of the day. This allows us to provide personalized attention and a more engaging learning environment. At Alva our students thrive and truly master their craft.
